Fat-Soluble Vitamins
Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in body tissues and can therefore be drawn upon when they are not obtained daily from the diet. Because they are not easily excreted, however, excessive intake of fat-soluble vitamins can cause toxicity. The fat-soluble vitamins are vitamins A, D, E, and K and the carotenoids.
