Recommendations

Book:
Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke. Imagine if Dickens and Tolstoy had written a novel about magic. The end result might very much be like this wonderful debut novel that takes place in 19^th century England and incorporates many historical facts into its storyline. Clarke writes in a leisurely fashion, building her plot slowly yet expertly and the novel’s payoff is well worth waiting for.
